SOLON -- A mom comes home to find her son asleep on the couch and a strange man standing in her hallway.

Just before 9:30 a.m. Monday, a Valley Forge Drive resident, 62, entered her kitchen to discover an unknown man in the front hallway.

She asked him what he was doing, and he pointed to her son, who was asleep on the couch, and stated that he was his guest.

A minute later, the resident asked her son about the man while the man was using the bathroom and learned that her son knew nothing of the man.

That's when the man, later identified as John Stok, 27, of Wickliffe, ran out of the house.

Stok was later caught by police in the parking lot of Office Max in a car.

Items found in his possession additionally connected him to a past burglary on Bridle Trail, which he will be charged with.

For now, Stok is charged with counts of burglary, receiving stolen property for items found in his car taken from a Bedford Heights resident and a Bedford resident, and possession of criminal tools for a lock pick set found in the car.
