CLEVELAND - Another round of heavy rain brought some minor street flooding to parts of northern Ohio on Wednesday.

WKYC Meteorologist Betsy Kling says a large area of one to two inches of rain was estimated by doppler radar during the last 24 hours from Cleveland to Mansfield, while lesser amounts of .30 inches to .75 inches common from Akron to north of Columbus.

Wednesday's showers and thunderstorms also put Cleveland's rainfall total above normal for the first time since summer with 29.45 inches of rain in the gauge for 2012, or .60 inches above normal.

For September, Cleveland has received 7.48 inches of rain, or more than twice the amount normally expected for the month. The Akron area remains about 2.89 inches drier than normal, while Mansfield needs more than six inches of rain to break even.

Kling says the rain will come to an end later tonight with sunny skies returning to end the work week.
