Akron police searching for gang member with weapons charges

AKRON -- The Akron Police Department and the U.S. Marshals need the public's help to locate Edwin Oneil Cain III.

Cain is wanted on multiple charges, including participating in a criminal gang, felony drug abuse, two counts of trafficking in drugs, four counts of having weapons under a disability and unlawful transfer of weapons.

Police say on several occasions, Cain, 25, sold heroin and guns to undercover officers.

He should be considered armed and extremely dangerous. He already has several convictions for drugs and weapons offenses.

Edwin Cain III's last known address was on 7th Street SW in Akron.

A reward is being offered by the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force for information directly related to the arrest of Edwin Oneil Cain III.

Anyone knowing his whereabouts is encouraged to call the Akron Police Department Detective Bureau at (330) 375-2490.
