ELYRIA -- An explosion at Elyria Foundry injured one man early Friday morning.
In a written release, the foundry's President and CEO says the worker has been released from the hospital after receiving treatment for minor burns and smoke inhalation.
The Filbert Street facility caught fire after some metal with too much moisture went into a furnace. The reaction caused the explosion.
The CEO says the furnace has been shut down until crews evaluate it and give the okay to restart. The rest of the foundry is operational.
