CLEVELAND -- The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services has fined the Prentiss Center for Skilled Nursing Care at MetroHealth $357,000.
Inspectors said, in a September letter to nursing home administrator Christina Szatala, that they found the facility was "not in substantial compliance" and found the most serious deficiency "to place the health and safety of patients in immediate jeopardy."
The inspections were done around the time the Investigator Tom Meyer began exposing employees physically abusing an Alzheimer's patient at the facility.
Several employees were charged with assault and at least eight employees were disciplined, including four who were fired as a result of a hidden camera investigation.
The Ohio Attorney General's office is still conducting its own investigation into the into the abuse exposed by Channel 3 News.
