The city's name says it all. Cuyahoga "Falls." Now the city's mayor wants to use an EPA decision to tear down two dams to create a wave of economic opportunity with white water rafting on the Cuyahoga River.
"We'd be a class four rapid, and the closest one is 250 miles away," said Mayor Don Robart. "We think we could develop around that."
Robart said the city has brought up the idea with business owners along the Cuyahoga and so far they're on board.
The two city dams could come down as early as this year, Mayor Robart said.
"If we're going to take ours (two dams) down, it would free up this whole area for miles to miles to miles," he said.
