Organizers say it was the largest crowd for the Little Italy parade since it moved here from downtown Cleveland in 2003.
This year's grand marshal was retired Cleveland Municipal Court Judge Salvatore Calandra, with his wife, Marie.
The day began at Holy Rosary Church with a 10 a.m. Mass and the parade stepped off just before noon.
It wound its way down Mayfield Road from Overlook Road, past the judges's reviewing stand. The parade is sponsored by the Order of Italian Sons and Daughters of America and the Northern Ohio Italian American Foundation.
