He is a turnaround artist who is running as an Independent candidate to be the new county executive in charge of Cuyahoga County's reform government.

He has invested lots of time and energy in his campaign.

He survived a near-death heart attack and believes reforming county government is his new intended life's work.

He has proposals to get politics and nepotism out of the county's hiring process.

He vows to use lessons learned in business to aggressively recruit companies to locate or expand here.

He is financing his own campaign. That self-funding has some challengers charging he is trying to buy the election.

Lanci's brother, Tom, was convicted of charges in the bombing death of mobster Danny Greene in October 1977.

Lanci sat down with Tom Beres to discuss his background, proposals and all the above issues.

Channel 3 is interviewing county executive candidates as the opportunity permits.
