Stark County: Highway Patrol investigating fatal crash

BETHLEHEM TOWNSHIP -- The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal two-vehicle crash that occurred ay 10:15 a.m. Wednesday.

A Newcomerstown woman died at the scene.

The crash occurred on state Route 21, 205 feet south of Lawndeil Road S.W., in Bethlehem Township in Stark County.

A 2001 Buick Park Avenue was traveling north on SR 21 in the left lane. The Buick drove left of center and struck a southbound semi-tractor trailer head-on.

The truck was a 2002 Mack truck pulling a 2013 MAC trailer. The trailer was carrying a load of gravel.

The driver of the Buick -- Sapphira C. Ciriano, 21, of Newcomerstown -- died at the scene.

The driver of the truck, Todd E. Zorger, 52, of Carrollton, sustained a minor injury and was taken to Affinity Hospital in Massillon where he was treated and released.

Seatbelts were in use by both Zorger and Ciriano.
