CUYAHOGA FALLS -- Police were called to 2522 State Road #2 shortly before noon Monday for a possible burglary in progress.
They found a man trying to enter the apartment through a window.
The initial investigation showed there was no burglary but illegal narcotics activity.
The Cuyahoga Falls Police Narcotics unit obtained a search warrant for the apartment.
After they received their warrant, they found items indicating that the apartment was being used in the production of methamphetamine.
The man in custody on outstanding arrest warrants was also charged with additional drug-related charges.
Joshua T. Rix, 29, of Akron, was charged with illegal assembly of chemicals for the manufacture of drugs, a second-degree felony.
Rix was booked into the Cuyahoga Falls City Jail pending his court appearance.
The Narcotics unit is evaluating the evidence seized during the search and further charges are expected against other suspects.
