COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Ohio lawmakers are expected to review changes to state-issued school ratings and a bill to protect young athletes against brain injuries in the final weeks before the new year.

Other matters including an update to the state's ethics law will be discussed when the Ohio Legislature's lame-duck session resumes Tuesday after a Thanksgiving break.

Legislative leaders are also taking a hard look at possible changes to the state's election rules as well as a measure that would to send Planned Parenthood to the back of the line for public family-planning dollars.

The Senate also plans to consider an overhaul of a financial institutions tax.

Republicans hold majorities in each chamber, and the GOP will have continued control when the newly elected General Assembly starts its session in January.
