CLEVELAND -- Cleveland Police were called to Mohawk shortly before 6 p.m. for reports of shots fired.
When they arrived at the location, they found the alleged suspect intoxicated.
Officers attempted to take the intoxicated man into custody when, a police spokesperson tells Channel 3 News, the suspect became violent kicking an officer in the face.
Officers had to tase the man in order to stop his assault on Cleveland Police officers.
Police did recover a gun.
The suspect was taken into custody and will be charged with discharging a firearm and assault on a police officer.
The officer was treated and released for his injuries.
