CLEVELAND -- A judge has sentenced a teenager to to life in prison for the murder of a South Euclid woman last summer.

Jeffrey Rembert, 17, would be eligible for parole after 41 years behind bars.

Rembert pleaded guilty in January to aggravated murder and aggravated robbery in the death of Jacqueline Gavorski on July 14, 2012.

Police say Rembert struck the 65-year-old over the head several times with a piece of concrete. Rembert had approached Gavorski in the driveway of her home as she unloaded packages from a shopping trip.

Rembert was originally charged as a juvenile but was bound over to be charged as an adult.
