Cleveland: DNA leads to suspect in two East Side rapes

CLEVELAND - A man being held in the Cuyahoga County Jail has been identified as a suspect in two East Side rape investigations.

A search warrant was executed on the man on Feb. 15 where a DNA sample was taken. The man is being held in jail on an unrelated burglary charge.

The Cuyahoga County Regional Forensic Science Laboratory tested the sample and linked the man to both rapes.

Police say one of the attacks happened on Jan. 11 in the 10100 block of Garfield Avenue. The second incident happened on Jan. 30 in the 11300 block of Whitmore Avenue.
