RANDOLPH TOWNSHIP -- A resident was able to get a picture of the man he says broke into his house Sunday afternoon.

Portage County Sheriff David W. Doak is asking the public for help in identifying a man suspected of being involved in a burglary just before 1 p.m. Sunday.

The home is in the 100 block of Hartville Road in Randolph Township.

Doak says the home's occupants were awakened by the sound of breaking glass.

When they entered the kitchen, they came face-to-face with a man who had entered the home through a now-broken window.

The man then ran out of the home and was picked up by a vehicle on Pontius Road.

But before the man ran out of the home, a resident was able to use his camera to take a picture of the man as he was leaving the residence.

The man wanted in connection with this is, about 30 to 40 years of age, approximately 5'09" to 5'11" tall, with dark hair, having a slender build, with a short beard.

He was wearing a brown jacket with a red hoody underneath, a two-tone baseball cap -- black with gray bill -- with an unknown logo on the front.

The vehicle that picked him up was described as being an older model SUV, black in color with tinted windows.

Doak is requesting anyone with information as to the identity of this man to please take no action on their own but to call the Portage County Sheriffs Office at 330-296-5100.
