AKRON -- One person is dead after a double shooting took place around 2:50 p.m. near the intersection of Copley Road and Edgewood Avenue on Wednesday.
The Summit County Medical Examiner's Office reports that 31-year-old Jaquare Jackson, one of the shooting victims, was taken to Akron General Medical Center where he later died at 3:17 p.m.
The second victim, a 28-year-old man, was taken to Akron City Hospital with injuries that do not appear to be life threatening, according to police
The Akron Police Department says both victims were inside a maroon 2000 Oldsmobile Aurora when an unknown suspect(s) fired multiple shots at them from an SUV. Akron Police say the SUV is described as full-sized and charcoal gray with a bumper decal showing the image of yellow lips.
A partial license plate was also reportedly seen containing the numbers "2129."
No motive has been identified as the circumstances surrounding the shooting are still under investigation.
