AKRON -- Two people are recovering from gunshot injuries after being shot attempting to return a lost cell phone in exchange for cash.
Around 2 a.m. this morning, the victims told police they found the phone outside a North Main Street bar. The owner called the phone and made arrangements to meet the people who found the phone in a parking lot to retrieve the phone in exchange for $20.
When the victims arrived at the parking lot on Berwin the phone's owner said he didn't have the money. The victims tried to drive away with the phone and the owner opened fire.
The gunshot injuries do not appear to be life threatening.
No charges have been filed.
