NORTH CANTON, Ohio -- A drunk driver caused a three-car accident on North Main Street Sunday evening.

North Canton police and fire departments responded to an accident involving three vehicles shortly before 7 p.m.

The accident closed a section of North Main Street, between Applegrove Street and Wilbur Drive, for almost an hour.

A Ford Mustang was driving recklessly in the parking lot of a K-Mart, witnesses said.

The Mustang left the parking lot onto North Main Street, where it struck another vehicle at a traffic light. That vehicle was then pushed into a third one.

One woman was taken to Mercy Hospital.

The driver of the Mustang was arrested and booked at the Stark County Jail. He was charged with operating a vehicle while under the influence.

Witnesses reported a passenger in the Mustang ran off on foot, police said.

He was described as a white man, wearing blue-jean shorts and a gray bandanna.

Anyone with information about the identity of this passenger are asked to contact the North Canton Police Department at (330)499-5911.
