Akron: Police seek wanted bank robber

AKRON -- Police say they have identified a man who robbed a bank last week and are now asking for the public's help in locating him.

According to Akron Police, Ralphel Penn, 25, of Stow, is wanted for allegedly robbing the First Merit Bank in the 800 block of Brittain Road.

The robbery happened Friday, Aug. 17 around 11 a.m. as the suspect handed the teller a note demanding money.

He fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash and fled southbound from the bank.

Surveillance cameras captured multiple images of the suspect before he left the bank.

Akron Police say Penn may also be responsible for two other bank robberies, one in Northfield Villange, the other in Solon.

Anyone knowing his whereabouts is asked to call the Akron Police Department Detective Bureau at 330-375-2490. Callers can remain anonymous.
