CLEVELAND -- A female Manchester/Terrier mix is being cared for at the Cuyahoga County Animal Shelter after her leash was stuck on railroad tracks in the Tremont area last week.
It was originally reported that two dogs were killed and a third survived after being tied to the railroad tracks while trains passed over them.
Upon further investigation, there is no evidence to support that.
Cleveland police believe that the dog had broken away from somewhere and the leash the dog was wearing got stuck on railroad tracks.
The dog was able to survive because of her small size.
"She's very lucky and very traumatized but she is coming around," Shelter Kennel Manager Lesley DeSouza said.
