Cleveland Hts: Thieves targeting vacant homes, appliances

CLEVELAND HEIGHTS -- Police say thieves have been targeting vacant homes and removing copper wires, appliances, and air conditioner condensers.

Police have multiple reports of the theft of copper wire and pipes from vacant homes this past week. The homes targeted were on Woodridge, Orchard and Delmore roads. Theives also took kitchen appliances from a vacant home in the 3800 block of Montevista Road.

At 4 p.m. Tuesday, a witness said a man was seen in a black pick-up truck in the driveway of the Montevista home.

Police say thieves are also removing parts from exterior air conditioning condensors in those areas.
