CLEVELAND - A lifetime of volunteering has earned a Cleveland resident an MLK Drum Major award and a meeting with President Obama.

Gladys Reid has spent a lifetime volunteering. Recently, her niece nominated her for a Martin Luther King Drum Major Award for her lifetime of service to the Cleveland community.

The 87-year-old was selected as one of seven award winners nationwide.

"It's a great honor to meet the President" said Reid, who is headed to Washington D.C. this weekend with her son.

She volunteers at two Cleveland churches in their food pantries, cooking and serving hot meals to those in need. It's just the latest in a long list of volunteer activites for Ms. Reid.

"Just get out there and do it!" she said.

Reid will meet the President Monday, along with her two sons and daughter-in-law.
