Fugitive still on run after Christmas Day shooting

CLEVELAND -- Deputy U.S. Marshals are still searching for the man wanted in a Christmas Day shooting.

Jamahl Baker, who has been named Fugitive of the Week, is wanted on charges of felonious assault. According to Cleveland Police, on Christmas Day, 2011, Baker got into an argument with a man and shot him 4 times.

The victim was rushed to the hospital and eventually recovered from his wounds.  Baker, 23, went on the run and has been a fugitive from justice for more than 6 months.

Jamahl Baker was last known to have lived in the area of East 85th Street and Chester Avenue in Cleveland. He stands 5 feet, 10 inches tall and weighs 165 pounds. Deputy Marshals say he has a violent criminal history and should be considered armed and dangerous.

The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force is offering a reward for the information which leads to the capture of Jamahl Baker. Tips can be called into the Fugitive Hotline at 1-866-4-WANTED, or texted to 447411 (tip411) using the keyword Fugitive.

Informants can remain anonymous and still qualify for reward money.
