"We wanted to create an environment where people felt like they wanted to be versus they felt like they had to be," says Lifetime Fitness Senior Director, Jason Thunstrom.
Many people try to fit a workout into their day almost like a chore.
"Time! A lot of us say we don't workout, we don't have enough time."
That was the motivation for every detail at Lifetime Fitness. The founder of this sports resort wanted to create a family friendly environment with healthy lifestyles as the focus.
Members find the usual suspects such as treadmills and group fitness rooms. But even the cycle center puts a different spin on the exercise by simulating the Tour de France and monitoring heart rate.
"We're proud to have rock climbing caverns, its not just a wall, its a cavern, you'll see there are 5 different rock climbing faces, 28 feet high -- a decent amount of square footage."
The facility has both indoor and outdoor pools, a lap pool and two heated whirlpools.
Hungry? The deli serves only healthy all natural and organic foods with calories listed.
"In here this is Lifespa. A full hair care, nail care, skin care and massage. We want our members to also have an opportunity to relax and rejuvenate after the workout. And this brings them that environment," says Thunstrom of the spa just inside the lobby of the facility.
