CLEVELAND -- One of the biggest nationwide trends in urban housing is planned for one of Cleveland's trendiest neighborhoods.
A "transit-oriented development" project is planned for Ohio City and will significantly change the corner of West 25th and Lorain.
The mixed-use, 200-unit apartment building will not only have retail on the first floor, but will be centered around the RTA station on the corner of Gehring and Lorain. Currently, the Market Plaza shopping center is located on that property, but will be razed and rebuilt.
The City of Cleveland has already approved the plans to move forward and RTA has committed funding to help the project along.
