Gas prices across Ohio are dropping near the $3 mark. Paying less means more money in all of our pockets, but especially for those who make a living driving.
Americab driver, Michael Turner hit the jackpot when the Horseshoe Casino opened. He needs the frequent fares to make up for high gas prices because even though gas goes up, he doesn't pass it along to his customers.
Cab drivers pay to fill up on their own. So, Tuesday morning's dramatic drop at the pump was a nice surprise.
"It was outstanding to me. Let's try to do $2.14," says Turner.
The average price in Ohio is $3.38, according to AAA. But we found prices as low as $3.23. Some of our viewers say they filled up for as little as $3.15.
The reason the Midwest is getting relief at the pump, says the Oil Price Information Service, is because our refineries were upgraded to process cheaper crude oil from North Dakota and Canada.
They say we could continue to see this drop, with prices landing around $3 a gallon by Thanksgiving.
