Pro Football Hall of Fame in Ohio marks 50th

CANTON -- The Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio, is celebrating its 50th anniversary by thanking fans.

The hall opened to the public Sept. 7, 1963, and marked the anniversary Saturday with an all-day celebration ending at 5 p.m.

Admission was discounted 50 percent and the first 1,000 visitors got an anniversary edition Panini patch card.

Those signing up to participate include Hall of Fame inductees Paul Warfield, Joe DeLamielleure (deh-lah-meh-LOOR') and Leroy Kelly.

According to The Repository, visitors born Sept. 7, 1963, received a $50 gift card to the Hall of Fame store. Those born Sept. 7 any other year received a $25 gift card.
