AKRON -- A man and two women from Ohio are facing felony drug charges after Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers seized two ounces of heroin, 192 Oxycodone pills and one ecstasy pill, worth approximately $17,000, following a traffic stop.

Troopers stopped a rented 2012 Chevy Cruze, with Pennsylvania registration, for a marked lanes violation, on the Ohio Turnpike in Summit County at 6:47 p.m. Tuesday.

Once talking to the driver, troopers detected an odor of burnt marijuana coming from the vehicle and observed in plain view raw marijuana on the interior floor.

Further investigation revealed that the two female occupants were concealing the heroin and prescription pills on their person.

The driver, Kory D. Smith, 27, and passengers, Lauren A. Luke, 25, and Brandy Lee Ross, 19, all of Steubenville, were taken to the Summit County Jail and charged with possession and trafficking in heroin, both first-degree felonies; possession and trafficking in a Schedule II substance, both second-degree felonies; and possession of ecstasy, a fifth-degree felony.

Luke and Ross were also charged with tampering with evidence, a third-degree felony.

If convicted, Smith could face up to 37 years in prison and up to a $72,500 fine and Luke and Ross could face up to 42 years in prison and up to an $82,500 fine
