NORTON, Ohio -- The Summit County Bomb Squad was called to a store in Norton overnight for a call of a suspicious package.
The team was notified around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday to respond to the Acme grocery store off of Cleveland-Massillon Road.
Norton Police first responded to the call late Monday night when an employee stocking shelves in the soft drink aisle noticed a tube or cannister-shaped object duct taped to a shelf on the top and bottom and hot glued.
The Summit County Bomb Squad and Norton Police remained at the store for about two hours.
Crews discovered that the tube was empty and presented no danger.
There are no suspects in the case and the store is expected to open for normal business Tuesday.
