Summit County: Lakemore man arrested after 3-hour standoff

SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP, Ohio -- A Lakemore Village man was arrested Saturday morning after barricading himself inside a house for three hours.

Springfield Township officers went to serve a warrant to James Barrett at about 5:30 a.m. in a home on Springfield Lake Drive, between Danforth Avenue and Fairdale Drive

Barrett barricaded himself inside the house, refusing to surrender to police.

S.W.A.T. was called to the scene and a 3-hour-long standoff ensued.

At about 8:30 a.m., Barrett surrendered to police and was arrested. He was charged with obstructing justice and inducing panic.

He is in Portage County Jail on outstanding warrants for aggravated menacing and violation of a protection order, police said.
