PORTAGE COUNTY -- Sheriff David W. Doak confirmed the arrest of Brian Cieszykowski, 30, and Angie Wyatt, 29, both of Cleveland.

Wyatt was charged with one count of complicity to burglary, a felony, and Cieszykowski was charged with one count of burglary, a felony.

The investigation, which spanned three counties, will be presented to the Portage County Grand Jury for possible additional charges.

In addition, Cieszykowski will be charged in Geauga County for resisting arrest and assault on a police officer.

On Tuesday, detectives from the Portage County Sheriffs Office responded to the report of two daytime burglaries that had occurred in the 5000 Block of Winchell Road in Mantua Township.

Both homes were not occupied at the time of the burglary.

During the course of this investigation, information was obtained in reference to a suspicious vehicle and two people seen in the area. That information was passed along to deputies on road patrol.

About 2:48 p.m. Thursday, Deputy Tramba saw a vehicle matching the description of the suspicious vehicle in the 4900 of Winchell Road and stopped it.

The occupants were Wyatt and Cieszykowski and Wyatt was found to have an outstanding arrest warrant through Geauga County for a probation violation and was taken into custody.

Cieszykowski was interviewed and released but, later that day, it was learned that another burglary had occurred in the area of the traffic stop.

As the investigation continued, information was found to show that both Wyatt and Cieszykowski were allegedly involved in all three burglaries.

An arrest warrant was obtained for Cieszykowski.

Detective Springer and Detective Acklin were able to locate Cieszykowski at his mother's home in Troy Township in Geauga County.

Cieszykowski resisted arrest when the two detectives tried to arrest him, resulting in injuries to both detectives.

Cieszykowski was taken into custody and taken to the Portage County Jail without further incident.

Springer was taken to UH Geauga Medical Center for treatment and was released. Acklin did not require treatment for his injuries.
