ALLIANCE -- Residents are feeling the heat Sunday Morning.
Hundreds of Columbia Gas customers endured frigid temperatures Friday night into Saturday night without help from their furnaces.
Ken Stammen with Columbia Gas says only 2 homes have not been restored because workers aren't able to restore service to homes without someone being there.
Columbia Gas customers who are in the area can call 1-800-344-4077 to have their gas service restored.
Law Enforcement is working with Columbia Gas to get into the homes and get the gas lines operational.
Ray Frank with Columbia Gas says 325 customers had to be cut off from the natural gas supply in the northern part of Alliance Friday night. Customers from Harrison Street to Gaskill Street waited while the gas company made repairs.
A utility worker, not with Columbia Gas, accidently turned the gas line off.
To make sure that the gas lines did not have air inside them, Frank said the whole system had to be purged by reintroducing natural gas to the area.
Each home will need to be visited and gas has to be manually turned on to each appliance once restored.
Columbia Gas had 60 crews on site looking to have all customers restored by Saturday night.
Police are asking that you check on family members, especially the elderly, who you may know in that area.
