AKRON -- When an 81-year-old woman went in her home after taking her dog out to the back yard Wednesday afternoon, she found a man waiting inside.
Akron Police say the suspect had entered a rear door of the victim's home in the 900 block of Concord Avenue around 3 p.m. while she was outside.
The suspect then confronted the woman and knocked her down before taking her wallet, which contained miscellaneous bank cards and $1 in cash.
Although authorities say neither the victim nor her dog were hurt, they say the suspect also kicked the dog out of the way as he fled the scene.
Anybody with information is asked to contact the Akron Police Department.
