SUMMIT COUNTY -- Sheriff's deputies say the caretaker of man, 87, stole about $75,000 from him over 18 months to make over 130 purchases of gemstones from California.

On Jan. 17,  Deborah Ramoz, 59, of Cuyahoga Falls was arrested for theft from the elderly, a third degree felony.

She was booked into the Summit County Jail and on Jan. 18, deputies executed a search warrant at her Cuyahoga Falls home.

Numerous containers of gemstones were seized from the residence.

This all started back in July, when the Summit County Sheriff's Office was contacted by personnel from Adult Protective Services regarding a possible financial exploitation involving an elderly victim.

An investigation got underway and it was determined that Ramoz was, indeed, stealing from her client.
