PIKE TOWNSHIP -- Law enforcement officers were able to locate a child that went missing Saturday afternoon from his home on Brinkner Street SW.
Ohio State Highway Patrol reports that the child, Braylen Tomblin, went missing around 1:30 p.m. The 3-year-old boy went into the woods chasing after the family dog, but never came back out.
OSHP officers assisted local law enforcement officers, dispatching ground units and an aircraft to aid in the search efforts.
Police located the boy via aircraft about an hour later in a field. He had walked about a mile away from his house.
The pilot was able to direct ground searchers to the area to rescue the boy. He was unharmed and was returned to his family.
