Downtown development's on a roll.

The new Convention Center opened ahead of time and under budget.

And Mayor Frank Jackson and Cuyahoga County Executive FitzGerald unveiled a new megaproject, including a flagship Convention Center hotel, a bridge between downtown and the lakefront and remade greenspace.

Can the county sales tax passed for the Convention Center be used for this?

Will a possible new levy for mental health funding affect public perception of money saved on the project is spent?

What is the likelihood of all these things getting done?

One police supervisor is fired, two are demoted and eight are suspended for not doing their job during the November massive police chase that ended with the shooting deaths of two unarmed suspects.

Were the punishments just? What will happen next?

Should E. Gordon Gee have been pushed out as OSU President for his habitual, insensitive attempts at jokes involving athletics?

Was he doing too good job otherwise to fire? Might his successor be a local university president?

Megan O'Bryan , the head of the Rape Crisis Center, is getting an important new job as head of the panel overseeing the school transformation plan.

Will her skill set be effective there? What are the big challenges she faces?

Tom Beres discusses these subjects with Plain Dealer Columnist Mark Naymik and Republican former State Representative Matt Dolan on this edition of Between the Lines.
