ONTARIO, Ohio -- Republican Presidential nominee Mitt Romney spent his day campaigning in Ontario, Ohio today.

Romney addressed a crowd at PR Machine Works, where he spoke about building the economy. More than 1,000 people turned out to hear Romney speak.

Then Romney sat down with WKYC-TV's Senior Political Correspondent Tom Beres for a one-on-one interview.

They discussed the kind of jobs his plan would create for Ohio. the significance of the debates, the long and grueling campaign and the 5 percent bump in some of the polls that President Barack Obama just received.

Romney will be in Nevada Tuesday where he's scheduled to speak to a group of National Guardsmen,on the anniversary of the September 11th attacks.

Romney and President Barack Obama have said they'll both pull their campaign TV ads Tuesday in honor of September 11th.

Romney returned to the presidential battleground of Ohio, looking to take advantage of President Barack Obama's absence.

Romney visited Mansfield in northern Ohio on Monday and criticized the president over deep defense cuts scheduled as part of a deficit-reduction proposal.

Those possible cuts mean the city would lose its 179th Air National Guard unit, which would cost hundreds of jobs. Romney said the proposal would be bad for employment and national security, and he vowed to block such cuts if he's elected.

Romney's campaign has running mate Paul Ryan scheduled back in southern Ohio on Wednesday evening, at the Clermont County fairgrounds.

Obama's campaign says Democratic Vice President Biden will visit Wright State University in Dayton on Wednesday.
