AKRON -- A jury has been seated to hear the public corruption trial of former Cuyahoga County commissioner Jimmy Dimora. Seven men and five women, all white, will be on the panel which will decide the former Democratic Party kingpin's fate.

Six alternate jurors were also seated, four women and two men. One of the four women is black, the rest of the alternates are white.

U.S. District Court Judge Sara Lioi told jury members they would not begin work until next Wednesday at the earliest. It had been expected that opening arguments would begin Monday, but that has been delayed by at least two days.

The judge did not explain the reason for the longer period between jury selection and the start of testimony.
