AKRON -- U.S. District Judge Sara Lioi has rescheduled the sentencing of former Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Judge Steven J. Terry for 11:30 a.m. on Sept. 28, according to court records.

He had been scheduled for sentencing on Wednesday. Terry intends to appeal his conviction, according to court records.

On Friday, attorney Sylvester Summers Jr. filed notice that he would be representing Terry in his appeal. Sylvester also filed a motion Friday on Terry's behalf for Terry to remain free on bond pending the outcome of his appeal.

Terry, 53,  was convicted June 13 of three corruption-related charges related to fixing a foreclosure case for then-Cuyahoga County Auditor Frank Russo and of performing campaign work with court employees on county time.

The jury acquitted him of two other charges.
