COLUMBUS -- Gov. John Kasich has appointed Brecksville mayor's court Magistrate Pamela Barker to replace convicted Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Judge Steven Terry.

Terry resigned in June, following his conviction on three charges by a federal jury in Akron in the Cuyahoga County corruption probe.

Terry is scheduled to be sentenced Wednesday in federal court.

Barker, 53, takes her seat on the bench Sept. 19. She is required to run for re-election in November, 2012, to complete the unexpired term that ends in January, 2015.
