AKRON -- The jury has has completed the first day of deliberations in the trial of Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court Judge Steven Terry.
Jurors received the case at 2 p.m on Friday. They will resume deliberations on Monday, June 13.
Closing arguments were delivered Friday morning in Akron federal court.
Terry, 53, has been on leave from the bench since he was charged with five counts of mail fraud and conspiracy to commit mail fraud on Sept. 15.
He's accused of accepting gifts and bribes from then-Cuyahoga County Auditor Frank Russo in exchange for favorable court rulings.
Russo testified in the trial. Terry also took the stand in his own defense and says he admired Frank Russo as a "good" and "wise" politician.
The FBI presented wiretapped phone conversations between Russo and Terry as part of the prosecution's case.
