AKRON -- Executive Caterers of Landerhaven CEO Harlan Diamond pleaded guilty Tuesday morning to working with former Cuyahoga County Commissioner Jimmy Dimora to defraud Dimora's political campaign fund.

Diamond, 76, of Bratenahl, could face six months in prison but his attorney Robert Glickman had him sign an 18-page plea agreement with prosecutors which could help Diamond avoid any prison time.

U.S. District Court Judge John Adams has not set a sentencing date for Diamond but it will likely be after Dimora's trial, which is set to begin Sept. 12.

That agreement requires Diamond to testify for the prosecution, if necessary, against Dimora. Dimora had racketeering charges added to his existing 26-count indictment last week. Dimora has pleaded not guilty to all counts and maintains his innocence.

Diamond was charged March 7 but a spokesman told Channel 3 then that he had been cooperating with authorities in the Cuyahoga County corruption probe.

According to court records, Diamond agreed to bill Dimora's political campaign fund for charges Dimora incurred for his wife Lori's 50th birthday party at Executive Caterer's at Landerhaven in Mayfield Heights.
