The Cuyahoga County Coroner's office confirmed that Ma died Friday night.

Ma's death is not a case out of the coroner's office, however they tell Channel 3 News that Ma's attending physician at Hillcrest Hospital signed off on his death.

Ma, 75, of Moreland Hills, suffered a stroke at his home and lapsed into a coma Friday, then died at Hillcrest, according to his attorney.

Ma was owner of Broma Information Technology, LLC and admitted in federal court back in August to paying more than $185,000 in kickbacks to Cuyahoga County government officials.

Prosecutors said the kickbacks allowed Broma, an information technology business, to get at least two Cuyahoga County computer contracts, according to court records.

One of those contracts was for "Docuware," a $100,740 document-imaging contract, as well as another lucrative subcontract.

Ma was awaiting sentencing.
