In addition, Jones said the Cuyahoga County Democratic Party would be able to appoint another auditor in 45 days.

Party chairman Stuart Garson was unavailable today to comment, due to the Jewish holiday of Rosh Hoshanah, when Channel 3's Tom Beres attempted to contact him.

Jones also said, regarding fellow Commissioner Jimmy Dimora, that "It's time for Jimmy to resign as well."

Russo resigned as auditor this morning, effective immediately. Russo was charged by federal officials on a 21-count bill of information today.

In previous federal court indictments and filings in the past 13 months, Russo had never been named but had been widely acknowledged as being "Public Official 2."

Until today, Russo had denied any wrongdoing and maintained his innocence.

Also in federal court documents and filings was "Public Official 1," widely acknowledged to be Dimora. To date, Dimora has denied any wrongdoing and maintained his innocence.

Today's 58-page bill of information against Russo lists many new titles without names, including references to up to the number 36 for "Business Executive or Employee," references up to the number 55 for "Public Employee," and references up to the number 40 for "Businesses."
