A Georgia woman says a bank error most definitely.. did NOT work in her favor.
Ann Wiley's says she started to notice problems when trying to pay a bill then again when a gas pump rejected her card.
"I first started realizing that I was having problems yesterday when I was trying to pay a bill online and kept getting error messages or denied," said Wiley.
When Wiley checked her bank stated she discovered a two transactions for close to $100 million.
Then overnight she had another $100 million taken out of her account.
Now she's $300 million in debt according to her bank and she can't buy food, gas, or anything.
Wiley called her bank, SunTrust, and was told that the problem was with the Department of Revenue.
It turns out that a car she bought in 2004 may be the problem.
"They're telling me it's the remaining balance of a sale. A $274 sales tax" said Wiley.
She's trying to find out how a $274 sales tax mishap could turn into $300 million.
