DENVER -- A psychiatrist who had the Colorado theater shooting suspect as a client reportedly wanted to talk to a campus security committee about him weeks before the attack.

A Denver television station (KMGH) reports that University of Colorado psychiatrist Lynne Fenton wanted to discuss James Holmes with members of a campus behavioral and security committee about a month before the shootings in Aurora. But the report says the meeting never happened because Holmes had begun the process of dropping out of school.

The station cited sources it didn't identify.

The university has declined to discuss the report, citing a court order barring it from releasing details about Holmes' year as a graduate student in neuroscience.

But the university did confirm that Fenton was a member of a campus Behavior Evaluation and Threat Assessment team. The team is composed of faculty and staff, including campus police. It was created to address behavioral problems as well as potential security issues involving members of the campus community.

Holmes dropped out of the university on June 10. He is charged with killing 12 people and wounding 58 at an Aurora movie theater July 20.
