DETROIT -- Wayne County sheriff's deputies are honoring a former Detroit police officer who was shot to death in Denver.

Sheriff Benny Napoleon says staff will be posted at various locations across the county at 11 a.m. Saturday. Patrol car lights will flash and sirens will blare for 15 seconds in memory of Celena Hollis.

Hollis was a Detroit police officer before she joined Denver police in 2005. She was shot in the head last Sunday while off duty and working security at a jazz festival at a Denver park. A 21-year-old man was arrested.

Napoleon calls the 32-year-old Hollis a hero to all.
