TALLMADGE -- A Tallmadge City Schools official says the elementary school will reopen after an investigation into a case of meningitis over the weekend.
Dunbar Elementary School was closed Monday, after a student was hospitalized with a suspected case of meningitis.
Business Director Steve Wood says Dunbar will open as usual Tuesday.
The student who was hospitalized is doing well, according to Wood.
While Wood could not say whether the strain of meningitis is bacterial or viral, he says the student is not highly contagious and does not pose a risk to classmates and staff.
The Summit County Health Department evaluated the case and determined there is no concern for public health, or a need for preventative treatments or special precautions to be taken.
Wood says this is an isolated incident.
