MEDINA -- Gov. John Kasich expressed willingness to work towards possible resolution in the Strongsville teachers strike.

Kasich was in Medina to talk to the Medina County Republicans. He did a one-on-one with WKYC's Tom Beres.

"If somebody thought I could help, and all sides thought I could help...I'm always willing to try to help someone to try to figure out how to help the kids," Kasich told Beres.

He stressed that no one has asked him to get involved and it would not be appropriate for him to do so unless asked.

"The one thing people need to do is, take a deep breath and respect and talk to people they completely disagree with, because that's the only way this will get done," Kasich said.

"What's really important is, once this ends, and it will, there's got to be healing and to realize we have to put the kids first."
