COLUMBUS -- It could be a precedent-setting school transformation plan for the Cleveland schools.

Mayor Jackson, CTU President David Quolke and School CEO Eric Gordon all testified before the Senate Education Committee Tuesday.

"It's about giving kids the same opportunities," says Mayor
Jackson.

All sides came to an agreement after negotiations over school reforms in Cleveland. The bill, if passed, would only impact the Cleveland Schools.

Changes could be made in the school year, length of school day, revamping failing schools, layoff seniority and sharing resources with charter schools.

The Mayor says this needs to pass the legislature to put a levy issue on the ballot for November.
